For the fourth time, the Lenzing Group is honoring young researchers with the Lenzing Young Scientist Award for excellent research in fibers and textiles. This year’s topic is “Nature’s Limitless Inspiration: Together we explore sustainable innovations based on cellulosics, including regenerated cellulosic fibers and films, and cellulose composites”.

What types of scientific work can be submitted? How recent should the work be?
Submissions can include content from Bachelor's, Master's or PhD theses published between July 2024 and June 2025, and the language of the scientific work should be English.
Who can submit their scientific work?
Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students, especially those studying Science and Design/Fashion, are eligible to submit their scientific work.
How and where can the scientific work be submitted?

What is the exact submission period?
The submission period is from February 1 to June 30, 2025.
What are the submission requirements?
Submissions should include a CV, the thesis itself and a scientific work description (1-2 pages) detailing the problem statement, solution approach, results, and implementation status. The quality of the submission will be evaluated. The language of the submission should be English.
Is there a need for a consent form regarding copyright?
Yes, a confirmation that the submitter holds all rights to the scientific work and can share it is required. Restricted research or research that is subject to secrecy may not be submitted.
How will the work be evaluated and the winners selected?
The scientific thesis will be evaluated by an independent jury of renowned industry experts. The awards will be presented during the Dornbirn GFC 2025, from September 10-12, 2025, in Dornbirn, Austria. The winners will be invited to the congress to present their research. The evaluation criteria will prioritize the most innovative thesis with the potential to be game-changers.
